How long 208km
IMPACT ON CLASSIFICATIONS
STAGE DESCRIPTION
Another stage for the sprinters with a relatively untesting route. With only three intermediate sprints in the first half of the race, the last 100km will probably be stereotypical. Any long breaks are unlikely to succeed as at this time of year there will be a strong head wind – just what Boonen's Belgians love.
STAGE FACTS
• The Tour has been to Nantes 30 times in its history. The last time was a time trial in 2003 won by David Millar.
• Millar also wore the yellow jersey to Nantes during stage three of the 2000 Tour in which he took yellow on the stage one time trial.
• This is one of only two 2008 Tour stages with no categorised climbs.
